| Notes | One of the largest mosaics of a single subject in the world, the 3,610 square foot mosaic covers the entire curved wall of the north apse. Designed by artist John de Rosen, made by the Ravenna Mosaic Company of St. Louis, Mo., the mosaic is made up of thousands and thousands of tiny pieces of glass. In it are almost 4000 shades of color, including 200 shades of gold, 300 shades of red. |
