Notes | St. Thomas Episcopal Church of New York is situated on Fifth Avenue at 53rd Street. It is the outstanding example of Gothic church architecture in America, founded in 1823, and opened for worship on the present site in 1913. The church building is noted for its sculptured stone reredos, its carved woodwork, and its beautiful stained glass windows. A choir school and a chapel are maintained by the parish. |
