The edifice occupies a commanding site of Riverside Drive at 122nd Street, almost opposite Grant's Tomb. The Cathedral of Chartres (A. D. 1194-1260) was the inspiration for the French-Gothic architecture of the building. The Nave and galleries accommodate 2500 people. It is 215 feet long, 89 feet wide and 100 feet high.
