Notes The Shrine dedicated to Our Lady of La Salette, on Route 4A, in Enfield, New Hampshire, is a reproduction of the one at La Salette, France, where our Blessed Mother appeared on September 19, 1846. The Enfield Shrine was blessed and dedicated by Most Reverend Matthew F. Brady, D.D., bishop of Manchester, New Hampshire, on May 30, 1951. Increasing numbers of pilgrims and visitors from all parts of United States and Canada are drawn to this chosen spot. Here our loving Mother delights in working wonders for the soul and body of her children who visit her Shrine and strive to console Her by fervent prayers and generous sacrifices. Looking up toward the replica of the Apparition, the evening visitor can marvel at the brightness of the lights shining on the Holy Stairs and Calvary, and on the Way of the Cross that stretches for almost a quarter of a mile along the hillside. The Rosary Pond, located to the right of the Replica, is surrounded with Grottoes depicting the fifteen Mysteries of the 900-foot Rosary. A statue of Our Lady of the Missions stands majestically on a fieldstone pedestal in the center of the Pond.
