Notes | A downtown beauty spot, bowl-like oasis, landscaped with beautiful flowers and shrubbery, a huge fountain in the center. Christ Church Cathedral (Episcopal) is the first Protestant Church founded west of the Mississippi River. The crowning glory of the Cathedral is its beautiful stone altar and reredos, which are replicas of those in the Winchester Cathedral, England. The Public Library is a fine specimen of the dignified public-building architecture. |
