Notes The world's largest collection of mosaics adorn 65,000 sq. ft. of walls and domes in the foremost example of Byzantine architecture in the Western Hemisphere. Building construction began May 1, 1907. Interior of the 80 ft. dia. dome is the largest spherical surface over covered by mosaic - completed 1965. Adjoining is the now St. Louis Chancery.
