NotesThe Oldest City in the United States. A Vista of Unusual Beauty - The Roman Catholic Cathedral by Night. Built in the Moorish type of architecture, it was dedicated December 8th, 1796. Partially destroyed by fire in 1887, it was rebuilt, extending the North wall and lengthening the arms of the Cross. The original chimes still hangs in the facade, one bears the date 1682. The Campanile was built in 1888 and contains the new Peal of Bells.
