NotesThe original location of the Yosemite Chapel when it was built in 1879 was about a mile down-valley, near the base of the 4-mile Trail. In 1901 it was moved piece by piece to its present site. The National Park Service restored the chapel in 1966. It is on the list of Historic American Buildings in the Library of Congress. Services are held throughout the year for Yosemite residents and visitors.
