Almeda M. Wright

Almeda M. WrightRev. Dr. Almeda M. Wright is the associate professor of religious education at Yale Divinity School. Dr. Wright’s research focuses on African American religion, adolescent spiritual development, and the intersections of religion and public life. She is currently finishing a larger historical project on the radical dimensions of African American religion and education. Dr. Wright’s most recent book is The Spiritual Lives of Young African Americans (Oxford University Press, July 2017). Her other publications include a coedited book with Mary Elizabeth Moore, Children, Youth, and Spirituality in a Troubling World, and contributions to several edited volumes including Albert Cleage, Jr. and the Black Madonna and Child and wrote introductory essays for the Common English Bible – Student Edition (Nashville: Common English Bible, 2015).(Bio dated 2019)
