Dr. Maria Dixon left corporate America in 1995 to begin her seminary education at The Candler School of Theology at Emory University, Atlanta, with an emphasis in Biblical studies and
homiletics earning a Master of Divinity degree in 1998 and a Master of Theology in 1999. In May 2004, she graduated with her Ph.D. in organizational communication and religion from the
University of Missouri-Columbia and was selected by The Chronicle of Higher Education as one of the top four new academics in the nation’s 2004 graduating class. Passionate about working to create strong communicators and strategies, she is currently completing her first book entitled, In Between Sundays: Strategic Communication for the Church in the 21st Century. A rabid fan of the Alabama Crimson Tide and Texas Ranger Baseball, she is an avid golfer and gamer. Married to Rev. Jeff Hall, Associate Pastor of Highland Park United Methodist Church in Dallas, Texas, she is the proud mother of Ms. Eddy, their 9-year-old American Staffordshire Pitbull Terrier.(Bio dated 2014)
