| Notes | Founded 1769 - San Diego, California. First mission of the Spanish Franciscan chain of 21, its beginning was also that of California's first city, San Diego. It is located in Mission Valley, 5 miles inland from Old Town Presidio, the original site. Once in ruins, the church was restored and rededicated in 1931. |
